Abstract

This paper examines the use of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality technology by jewelers in the design and presentation of their products, as well as the impact it has on effectiveness, user satisfaction, and implications for the practice of the industry. It took a mixed-method approach where qualitative data along with quantitative methods were used to collect information from the various participants about the understanding of the impacts of these technologies. Qualitative data presented from in-depth interviews, observations and questionnaires record user insights, emotions and perceptions of aspects like emotional resonance and intuitive interaction. Quantitative data measure tangible impacts on productivity, efficiency, and user satisfaction, through metrics such as task completion time, error rates, and engagement levels. Apart from the challenges mentioned above, research has considered technical constraints and ethical issues that arise. As a whole, this offers important insights to industry stakeholders about how to integrate VR/AR technology to make jewellery design and display even more immersive, inclusive, and sustainable in the future.
