Building a Collaborative Ecosystem: Planning and Development of the Airport Industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area
Main Article Content
Abstract
The primary objective of this research is to propose a framework for building a collaborative ecosystem within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA)’s airport industry, informed by Global Value Chains (GVCs), cooperative game theory, and green growth theory. This framework advocates for cooperation over competition among airports within the region and seeks to establish effective environmental governance mechanisms to attain the dual goals of economic development and environmental conservation. Specifically, the research will analyze the positioning of the GBA’s airport industry within the GVC, explore the cooperative game relationships among stakeholders, and recommend policies to promote green growth within the sector. The findings of this study are expected to provide theoretical guidance and practical insights for the planning and development of the GBA’s airport industry, thereby contributing to high-quality regional economic development and offering a model for sustainable airport economic development in other bay areas worldwide.
