Application of Green and Low-Carbon Concepts in Logistics Engineering: Education, Scientific Research and Practice

Abstract

The world's unavoidable development trend is the green and low-carbon (GLC) development mode, which aims to address the issues of resource and energy scarcity and environmental contamination. The logistics industry (LR) is the basic service industry of national economy and social development, and its energy consumption and environmental pollutant emissions are increasing year by year. In order to meet the demand for GLC talents of the LR, colleges and universities should integrate the concept of green and low-carbon (GLCC) into the professional teaching and talent training process. This study discusses how to integrate the GLCC into the logistics engineering profession from three aspects of university teaching, research and practice. First, based on the analysis of the basic connotation of GLC development, it discusses the current problems and challenges of GLC development and the urgency of integrating the GLCC development into the logistics engineering profession. Second, the basic strategy of integrating green low-carbon into the teaching of logistics engineering majors is discussed. Then, by analyzing the current scientific research status and main research direction of GLC logistics, the scientific research method of GLC logistics is proposed. Finally, combined with the case and practice of integrating the GLCC into the internship training courses of logistics engineering majors in our school, we discussed how to apply the green low-carbon concept into practice. The integration of the GLCC into the teaching, scientific research and practice of logistics engineering not only enriches the curriculum system of logistics engineering, but also provides university teachers with new ideas and methodological support for scientific research, and at the same time meets the needs of enterprises and the society for talents with the awareness and ability of GLC.
